The city consists of an older district and a more modern one. In the old town you will find beautiful historical Spanish churches, cobbled streets and lots of historical museums. In the modern part of the city you will find shopping, restaurants and a lively nightlife. You can then hike up to a full 4,680 m.ö.h. and get a magnificent view of Quito and the surrounding area. Another nice excursion is to the “Mitad del Mundo” – the center of the world – the equator itself, which is located just north of Quito. Here you can stand with one foot in the northern hemisphere and the other in the southern hemisphere. Inside the city center there are also many attractions such as the Basilica de San Francisco – Ecuador’s oldest church or a visit to the Plaza de la Independencia. (F )

On the way from the village you enjoy the beautiful nature along the river and the wild animals and birds that live by and near the river. Before dinner, when dusk falls, you take the flashlight and together with the guide you make a walk into the jungle to see animals such as geckos, toads and scorpions.
