It has a temperate climate with mild summers and cool winters. The geography of Oregon is characterized by forests, mountains, beaches and deserts. The western part of the state is home to the Cascade Mountains while the eastern part has the High Desert. Oregon offers many outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, hunting, hiking and surfing. In addition to its outdoorsy atmosphere, Oregon also offers many cultural attractions such as art galleries, museums and theaters that offer visitors a variety of entertainment options. The state also boasts several universities that offer a selection of degree programs for students interested in pursuing higher education. With its diverse landscape and temperate climate, Oregon is an ideal place to live or visit with plenty to do year round! From its vibrant cities to its peaceful countryside, Oregon has something for everyone! According to top-mba-universities, Oregon is home to a number of rivers and streams, many of which are tributaries of the Columbia River. The longest river in the state is the Snake River, which runs from Idaho and enters Oregon before entering Washington and finally emptying into the Columbia River. It serves as an important source of water for numerous communities and is popular for recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and rafting. Other major rivers in the state include the Willamette River, which originates near Eugene before meeting with the Columbia; the Deschutes River, which begins in central Oregon before flowing through Bend and eventually emptying into the Columbia; and numerous smaller streams throughout the state that provide essential water resources to many regions. In addition to its rivers, Oregon also has several large lakes that provide additional recreational opportunities.
